Indian Head Massage - 1 day Indian
Head Massage has been an important part of Indian life for over four
thousand years. The neck, shoulders, back and head are massaged to
release tension and stress using a variety of strokes and pressure
point techniques. It becomes in effect a de-stressing programme for
the whole body and thus eliminates toxins from tense knotted muscles,
relieves stiffness and improves lymph and blood circulation. Indian
head massage also works on areas affected by mental and emotional
stress and can bring immediate relief. It also improves circulation in
the head and enhances your senses, improves memory and promotes clear
thinking. This type of massage induces a sense of calmness, tranquility
and releases anxieties. It helps to improve concentration and
alertness, relieves mental and physical tiredness, edginess and
depression. Treatment can be given dry without oils and fully clothed, however, it is more beneficial with the use of oils. Once finished this
massage will give you a feeling of calm and relaxation.
All our courses can be studied by students of all ages and academic
levels and a qualification in Anatomy & Physiology is not required

Thai Seated Massage - 1 day Traditional
Ancient Thai massage is a unique form of Bodywork that incorporates
Hatha Yoga, acupressure and reflexology with origins dating back about
2500 years. In Thailand, there are many agricultural people who do a
lot of physical work through the day and their muscles become very
tight and sore, so they teach their children massage skills they
learned from their parents. In this way Thai massage is passed down as
an oral tradition. Massage has a unique style in each area of Thailand.
When people would gather together from different regions they would
exchange their techniques of massage. In this same way influences came
from other countries such as China, India, Burma and Tibet creating its
evolution and development. It has a close relationship with Indian
Ayurvedic medicine, yoga, traditional Chinese medicine and Japanese
Shiatsu. The SEN lines used are Indian in origin and are similar in
theory to Chinese Acupuncture, they follow the natural contours of the
body as opposed to the energy paths of the organs. Unlike the
techniques used in Western massage or the well known Swedish Massage,
the Thai method uses point pressure, muscle stretching and compression,
done in a rhythmic movement of gentle rocking.
This is an excellent therapy to add to your skills if you are looking to do any corporate/onsite massage.

Hopi Ear Candles - 1 day This
is an ancient and natural therapy handed down by many civilizations. It
is believed that the Ancient Greeks used ear candles, initially
probably for cleansing, purifying and healing on a spiritual basis, but
much later on a purely physical basis. However, the practice reached
the modern world via the native American Hopi Indians of North Arizona
(it's interesting to note that Hopi means peaceful people). Ear candles
were used traditionally by Shamen healers. Ancient wall paintings show
their importance in initiation rituals and healing ceremonies of the
tribe. The candles are still made today on the basis of the old
traditional formula originating from the Hopi Indians. The candles we
use for training are made from the natural ingredients of beeswax,
honey extracts, sage, St Johns Wort, chamomile, beta-carotene and
organically grown flax. A high quality is ensured.
The
candles work on a chimney principle, drawing any impurities to the
surface where they can be gently removed. They equalize the pressure in
the head and ears, making them suitable for most conditions. Secretion
flow is gently stimulated and the vapour collects and removes
impurities or deposits. Most of these are carried away through the
candle "chimney", although some of them can be found in the condensed
candle wax residue after removal from the ear, or could even work their
way up to the surface 24-48 hours after.
Benefits of the Hopi Ear Candles:
Excessive or compacted wax in the ears
Irritation in ears and sinuses
Pressure regulation in cases of : sinusitis / rhinitis / glue ear / colds / flu / headaches / migraine
Stimulation of local and reflex energy flow
Energetic revitalisation in cases of hearing impairment
Relaxing and calming effect in cases of stress
Noises in the ears, ringing, tinnitus
